Is it portable?
Yes, in fact it is
designed small enough, to fit into the smallest of C-PAP carry
bags...no part is over 11 inches in length…and it comes
with its own drawstring carry bag, which has the colorful, “*HoseBeGone…the
All-Star in Your Bedroom*” …logo on it!

Will it work
with my mattress, it is an odd size?
The HoseBeGone has
several height choices available to work with most mattress thicknesses
back

How high do
you mount the HoseBeGone over the mattress?
We recommend about
15 inches from the top of the mattress to the top of the circular
support arm…the lower portion of the circular support should
be inch or so above and behind your head so the CPAP hose can
glide effortlessly back and forth and follow your movements as
you sleep…It is important to remember however that for maximum
effectiveness, you should try to create a space between the mattress
and headboard or wall so the CPAP hose has some space to retract.

How does it
work?
HoseBeGone’s
patented, Doctor recommended, Doctor and Patient developed, hose
management system allows your hose to work with you, not against
you, it’s circular support arm swivels to follow you…following
your movement in bed extending and retracting…as opposed
to tying you up every time you move around…think about it,
what would you pay, to have someone just stand there to reposition
your hose for you at night? Would you pay someone 24 cents a night?
If you can afford that, you can have yourself a personal valet
called …”HoseBeGone”…the All-Star in Your
Bedroom!
back

Is it expensive?
It depends on how much
value you put on good night’s sleep! If you divide $89.95
by 365 days…it breaks down to about 24 cents a day!!!…and
that’s if you only use it 1 year! So, each year you use
that critical support…that allows you to sleep just a little
bit better every night…it goes from 24 cents a day to just
over a penny a day…in 5 years! This device pays for itself
the very first night you use it…and you no longer have to
be your own CPAP hose manager…
If
that’s not a good enough reason for you, we’ll guarantee
it’s worth every penny! In fact, use the HoseBeGone, if
it is not the best 24 cents a day you have ever spent to manage
your C-PAP hose, return it within 30 days for a full refund of
your money*
*does
not include shipping and handling charges!

Does the HoseBeGone
work only with conventional beds?
No, the best way to
use the HoseBeGone is to position the base between a mattress
and box spring, but we have an optional permanent wall mount for
the circular support arm that can be mounted on a wall or on the
back of your headboard.
back

Can I use a
longer hose or use two CPAP hoses that are fastened together?
Will the HoseBeGone still work?
Yes, it should work
fine. We do offer optional counterweights you can install on your
C-PAP hose if you would like it to retract easier or if you feel
it needs a little help to retract easier…you be the judge!
back
to top
Is the HoseBeGone
difficult to assemble or do I need any tools?
No, the HoseBeGone
needs no tools, it assembles and slides easily between the mattress
and box spring. So, if you can put a peg into a hole, you can
assemble the HoseBeGone. The optional wall mount does require
a screwdriver.

Sleep
& Sleep Apnea
Why
do we sleep?
I wonder
if anyone really knows! But you will agree that we can not do
without it. Some believe that sleep is the time set aside by nature
or God, whichever you believe in, for the brain and body growth.
It may be true that a growth hormone secretion is linked to sleep.
Others thought that sleep is a simple, protective, behavioral
adaptation during the periods of darkness, to avoid exposure to
the predators. Sleep may have something to do with the strength
of Immune function in the body, some would claim. Sleep may be
the time for energy conservation…and few think of sleep
as memory consolidation time.
Whatever the function, we need it nightly and we need plenty of
it!
How
much sleep do we need??
Amongst
the chaos of disagreement, we need good quality, uninterrupted
sleep of about six hours nightly to maintain adequate daytime
functioning. Some may need a little more or a little less, but
it is the quality that matters!
How
many of us snore???
Disagreement
prevails here too. About one in three men and one in five women,
snore.
So
then how many of us have sleep apnea???
The
prevalence is 4% men and 2% in women.
If
you are diagnosed with sleep apnea then we are on the same page.
If you are prescribed a CPAP machine, we understand your difficulties
trying to sleep. If you are not tolerating CPAP, we can help.
We can help you sleep with CPAP, so you can enjoy the refreshing
restorative sleep every one of us deserves, every night!!!

So
what if I don’t use my CPAP?
So,
what’s the big deal? What if I don’t use my CPAP?
Well,
if you don’t use your CPAP at all, you not only miss all
the advantages of good, restorative sleep but expose yourself
to many health problems…and those of you who use it “most
of the night”…you are at risk too, don’t fool
yourself by thinking because you used CPAP for a couple of hours
you are out of the woods! Not on our watch you won’t!
Simply
put, sleep apnea is like someone choking you, while you try
to sleep!
No
air flow when the body needs it most. Your body reacts with a
major stress response by releasing chemicals… which raises
your blood pressure…and…can increase your heart rate
to a point that is very dangerous! When the heart can’t
pump blood efficiently, your heart gets congested.
You
are left with no energy!!!
Your
blood sugar goes wacko!
Your
risk of stroke has just been multiplied many times…
Oh,
did we mention Asthma?
Did
we mention how it can make asthma symptoms worse!
How
about acid reflux…could you please pass the Tum’s?
If
you have acid reflux and have untreated sleep apnea, there is
a good chance your acid reflux could caused by your untreated
sleep apnea and can make it worse than it already is!
How
is your memory? We know, you can’t remember can you?
Sleep
apnea can cause your memory to fail you, when you need it most…honey,
have you seen my car keys?
Too
tired to notice a personality change?
Sleep
apnea can cause you to become irritable and have personality changes?
Most people who notice this are the last ones to let you know!
Do friends and family avoid your company? Make your own evaluation.
It may be time to re-think your treatment options.
Who
me?
Yes
you, it may be time to evaluate your options!
What
does impotence have to do with sleep apnea?
Lets
just say, there are many happy people waking up feeling like they
are a teenager again! It is amazing what a good nights sleep will
do for you!
Are
you just tired? Tired of medical treatments not working?
The
worst news is…medical treatments fail to work if sleep apnea
is not properly treated...and the dangers of untreated sleep apnea
are always underestimated!
CPAP
Equipment has changed!
Ok,
so maybe CPAP didn’t work for you…should you say,
I already tried it and it didn’t work for me?
NO,
NO, NO!!! We don’t think so, we think if you have the right
equipment and the right advice, you will have the best chance
at success. Go to an AWAKE
meeting in your area, these are groups of people just like yourself
who use CPAP and can help you transition to full compliance…seek
out a provider that is more concerned with getting you proper
equipment and becoming a compliant CPAP user than their bottom
line!
It’s
uncomfortable, inconvenient!!!
How comfortable or inconvenient is a STROKE! We can tell you it
is not convenient nor is it comfortable having someone change
your diapers…I am sorry, what was your reason for not using
CPAP?
No
more excuses!
